Floriankapelle

Reutte, Tyrol

According to tradition, a chapel in honor of St. Florian is said to have been built after the great fire catastrophe of 1703. The Floriankapelle in its current form was demonstrably built around 1760. The Reutte painter Johann Christoph Haas (1753 - 1829), a student of Franz Anton Zeiller, probably created the altarpiece "St. Florian protects the market town of Reutte" around 1780.
