You will fish in waters that the fly-fishing legend Charles Ritz once called the jewel of Central Europe. The waters are managed close to nature. In this context, we ask you to behave as considerately as possible towards the fauna and flora. The IG Traun wishes you much success with the natural experience of fly fishing. Petri Heil! Altausseertraun: 4.56 kilometers Grundlseertraun: 5.07 kilometers Koppentraun: 6.3 kilometers Ödensee-, Kainischtraun: 5.5 kilometers FISHING REGULATIONS What is allowed?Only fly fishing with artificial flies (dry, wet fly and nymph) with barbless hooks or crimped/removed barbs on one rod with one leader is allowed. Not allowed! Additionally attached lead balls or lead heads, jigs, extra heavy lures, streamers, lead-weighted sinking lines and bite indicators are not allowed. The hook size must be between size 10 and 20. Multiple systems are forbidden; only one fly per rod is allowed. Rigs such as "Tiroler Hölzl", "Czech or French Nymphing" as well as Squirmy Worms (silicone worms) are forbidden. Closed seasons: Grayling 15.02. – 15.06. Brown trout 16.09. – 15.03. Rainbow trout 01.01. – 15.03. Only a limited number of day tickets are issued. Fishing is only permitted during daylight hours; commercial fly-fishing training is prohibited. One rainbow or brown trout (minimum size 30 cm and maximum size 35 cm) or one brook char (minimum size 23 cm) may be taken per day. The taken rainbow trout or brook char must be immediately killed in a sportsmanlike manner and entered in the license. Please treat the fish gently and release the hook in the water. Wading is dangerous – use a wading belt, suitable footwear, and a wading staff. The license issuer assumes no liability for accidents, injuries, and their consequences. The instructions of the fishing supervisor must be strictly followed. The license is not transferable. By purchasing this license, you accept the detailed license conditions displayed. GENERAL INFORMATION The practice of angling in the Traun rivers is only possible with a valid fishing license. A legal prerequisite for acquiring these licenses is possession of a guest fishing card or a fishing card for the state of Styria. The operator, the association "IG Traun-Ursprung", is free to reject applications for fishing licenses without stating reasons. Issued licenses are not taken back and are not transferable. If a parent has a valid day license, it is possible, in the interest of youth development, to allow a child aged 8 to 14 to fish alternately at their own risk. For young people aged 15 to 18, a license for minors must be purchased. The provisions of the Styrian Fishing Act in its valid version must be observed. The instructions of the sworn supervisory bodies must be strictly followed. Violations of these provisions will result in the immediate withdrawal of the fishing license without exception or reimbursement of costs. The licensee is solely liable for any damages caused or for accidents of any kind, including those involving accompanying persons or children, and is responsible for their own actions. The association "IG Traun-Ursprung" is only liable for damages caused by it intentionally or through gross negligence. The licensee indemnifies and holds harmless the association "IG Traun-Ursprung" against all third-party claims in connection with this license agreement. By purchasing a license, the licensee expressly agrees to the fishing regulations and undertakes to comply with them. Unused licenses expire at the end of the respective year and are not transferable to the next year. No cost reimbursement for unused licenses!
