Well-structured, mighty body of water about 30 m wide and 5.1 km long along the village of Grünburg. The river course is characterized by large weirs, the so-called "Haunoldmühle" in the upper section, the "Steinbacher Wehr" as well as the "Humpelmühle", which also forms the end of the fishing district. The fish stock is dominated by brown trout and rainbow trout. In typical sections, one can find the famous "Steyr grayling". Whoever fishes in the Steyr once always comes back!
