Fishing on Lake Lahngangsee The Vordere Lahngangsee lies at an altitude of about 1,490 m above sea level in the Totes Gebirge and is only accessible on foot. The approximately one-hour ascent is rewarded with a unique nature experience: The lake is known for its ancient population of Arctic char, which are considered genetically particularly valuable.The fishing season on Lake Lahngangsee is strictly regulated and lasts from July 1st to August 31st. Fishing is permitted exclusively during daylight hours and only when accompanied by Karin and Rupert Wilpernig. Both day trips and multi-day stays with overnight accommodation in the simple fishing hut directly on the lake, which offers space for up to four people, are offered.A valid Styrian guest fishing license or Styrian fishing license is required for fishing on Lake Lahngangsee. The fishing license can be obtained directly from the Wilpernig family.Lake Lahngangsee is part of the Ausseerland in Styria and offers not only an exclusive fishing experience but also a deep insight into alpine nature.
