Filialkirche Mehrn zum Hl. Bartholomäus

Brixlegg, Tyrol

The exact origins of the church are lost in the mists of history. A first church is therefore likely to have been built in the 11th/12th century. It remained limited in its dimensions, which is why it was extended in the late 14th to early 15th century. Its current appearance dates back to a renewed extension in the years from 1661. Inside, the church has largely preserved its Baroque furnishings since its consecration in 1698. The high altar features a painting by Michael Waginger, which depicts Saint Bartholomew in the circle of the Fourteen Holy Helpers as well as the apostles Matthew and Matthias.
