The regional comradeship of former paratroopers Feldbach built the Paratrooper Monument in 1954. Already during its construction, there were great difficulties due to the occupying powers still present in the country. Many did not dare to appear for the solemn inauguration. Even the demolition of the monument was threatened. The monument is 13.5 meters high. The eagle weighs 2.5 tons. It is the only monument of its kind in the entire German-speaking area. During World War II, Captain Günther Heymann fought here with a battle group to retake Feldbach. The erection of the Paratrooper Monument at the place where it stands today was based on the death of the first paratrooper behind the Eckhart house. A few years ago, the monument was taken over by the municipality.
