Evangelische Pfarrkirche

Gmunden, Upper Austria

The Evangelical Parish Church in the Traundorf district, which is a protected monument, was consecrated in 1876 after 5 years of construction. According to plans by the Viennese architect Hermann Wehrenfennig, a church in the Neo-Gothic style was built, which was based on old English country churches. The construction was made possible not only by the financial contributions and in-kind services of the community members, but also by the support of members of the House of Hanover, the Saxon Gustav-Adolf-Verein and many other patrons. It is noteworthy for the building that, despite necessary renovations, it has been preserved in its original condition without significant changes. The rectory, also a protected monument, was subsequently built in 1894.More information can be found at Gmunden's Treasures!
