THEN and NOW:At the entrance to the Naarntal lies the public bathing establishment ‘Schwimmschule’ - Waldbad, built around the turn of the century. Many holiday guests visited this establishment. A swimming instructor there gave swimming lessons to children and adults.Perg was not only discovered as a summer resort in recent years. Even 50 years ago, there were dear summer guests, mostly from Vienna and Linz (excellent members of the Wiener Burgtheater were summer guests at the “Stiegenwirt” 40 years ago), who chose Perg as a summer recreation spot. Perg owes its attractiveness for summer guests primarily to the magnificent Naarn with its clear, iron-brown water. The Schwimmschule, the bath, excellently maintained by the local beautification association, offers the most pleasant summer and water pleasures for young and old.The favorable location of Perg offers summer guests pleasant walks and excursions both on the plain and in the wooded mountains. On the entire north side, the town of Perg is bordered by the forest, by the beautifully maintained Stephaniehain with its many resting places and beautiful distant views. Thannheiser, Fries and Burgholzer as eager members of the beautification association, this beautiful nature park was created for Perg.
