Eislaufplatz Weißenbach/Enns

Sankt Gallen, Styria

Outdoor sports facilities In addition to football, handball, volleyball, and basketball, an ice rink can also be operated in winter. The old tennis court in Weißenbach was converted. A floor structure compliant with school standards and sports facilities was created, and a multi-sport facility with a board system was installed on it. This facility is unique in our area and did not exist until now. The versatile use is extremely valuable for school operations. In addition to football, handball, volleyball, and basketball, an ice rink can also be operated in winter. Access to the sports facility was newly constructed, a new entrance gate was installed, and a path as well as the space between the old tennis fence and the board system were asphalted. Lighting and a loudspeaker system were installed. The construction of this multi-sport facility achieves several goals. On the one hand, the school's use significantly increases the outdoor sports offerings for the Weißenbach middle school, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes. This facility, unique in our region, is particularly interesting for the young population of the surrounding villages. In the adjacent restaurant, guests or their children can engage in meaningful activities before or after eating. In winter, the ice rink creates a new meeting point in the middle of the village.
