The trip starts in Grein and leads downstream to Wörth Island. On the right bank of Wörth Island, which divides the Danube into two one-way channels here, you pass the towns of Hößgang and Freyenstein. From Willersbach, the route on the left bank of the Danube passes the towns of Sarmingstein, St. Nikola and Struden with Werfenstein Castle and the Schusterstein, known from legend.
