Dichtersteine in Zammelsberg

Every year on August 15th, a new memorial stone for a German-speaking poet is unveiled in the Dichterhain (Poets' Grove) on Zammelsberg. Since the year 2000, an additional memorial stone has been placed on the eve of this event for a deceased Carinthian poet on the Kärntner Dichterweg (Carinthian Poets' Path). The selection is made by the board of the DGZ based on proposals from the annual general meeting. Most often, these are poets with milestone birth or death dates from various literary epochs.
