Debanttal

Nussdorf/Debant, Tyrol

The end of the valley is formed by the Schobergruppe with the eponymous Hochschober at 3,242 m altitude. Due to the favorable climate and geological conditions, the valley is home to a wide spectrum of wildlife and mountain plants. Cows spend the summer on the well-maintained Alm (mountain pasture) meadows, and higher up on the mountain slopes, larch and stone pine forests spread. Particularly striking is the green-bluish shimmering Debantbach. It is fed by cirque lakes and springs, thus having hardly any glacial water content, and its water is therefore crystal clear. The Debanttal is ideal for family hikes, mountaineering, climbing, and mountain biking. Access by car is possible up to Seichenbrunn. There, the nature and culture trail begins, leading to the Lienzer Hütte at 1,974 m. At the same time, it is also the starting point for the Wangenitzseehütte.
