The Moor in Rohr and its Power With its 42 ha, the moor in Rohr is the largest fen in the Pannonian region. It is approximately 12,000 years old and 13 meters deep. With its natural treasures and its power, this moor landscape is an exciting experience for schools, private groups, companies, and families. Interactive Adventure Trail "Lust auf Moor" (Desire for the Moor) An interactive adventure trail has been created at the edge of the moor, offering many adventurous and informative stories and stations for our visitors. You smell, feel, and grasp nature, hear its melody, experiment with sounds of wood, metal, stone & co., and thus playfully discover the largest fen in the Pannonian region. Layer by layer, we uncover the secrets of its formation and its importance for nature and climate protection. Flora and Fauna As a bird and Natura 2000 protected area, the moor in Rohr is home to endangered plant and animal species. Yellowhammer, hoopoe, bog grasshoppers, and even our moor oxen have found a new home here. Typical moor plants such as thistles, sedges, and over 200 types of grasses show a colorful landscape mosaic that we want to preserve.
