Das Himmelsgewölbe - Kreisverkehr in Bad Waltersdorf

Bad Waltersdorf, Styria

The roundabout at the local supply center in Sebersdorf was designed by the Sebersdorf artist Rudolf Pichler. The sculpture was made by the company Svoboda, consisting of three interconnected arches up to 6m high, each visually highlighted with anodized colorful longitudinal rods. An additional rounded monolith focuses the viewer. The design of the roundabout was financed by the Tourism Association, the Spa Commission, the market town of Bad Waltersdorf, and the East Styrian Thermal Water Utilization Company. At the opening, representatives of the municipality, the Tourism Association, and the East Styrian Thermal Water Utilization Company were delighted with the successful artwork, which is not only an eye-catcher but also the gateway to the Bad Waltersdorf thermal region. The sculptor & energeticist Rudolf Pichler was allowed to design the 3rd roundabout in Sebersdorf. His sculptures are reflections on human actions, mirroring the balance and tension of the soul. The idea behind this sculpture in Sebersdorf is: "The liberation of space and time."
