Darscho – Warmsee

The sunset at Darscho is still an experience in itself. The warm lake is located about two kilometers north of Apetlon, directly next to the farm road to Frauenkirchen on the Lackenradweg B20. With its size of approx. 1000 by 500 meters, it is manageable and is often used as an ice skating rink in winter. In spring, summer, and autumn, it serves as a breeding and resting place for birds. This place has long been known among ornithologists who observe the enchanting birdlife with binoculars. The mud of this "Lacken" (shallow lake) is even said to have healing properties. Due to its special composition, it promotes healing when applied to the skin.
