The Alpine Club already erected a 21 m high tower in 1869, which was replaced by a new one in 1888. In 1921, the Beautification Association took it over. The second structure was closed in 1932 and demolished in 1934. In 1971, the plans for today's 36 m high observation tower were finalized. The opening took place on October 1, 1972. The last renovation took place in May/June 2014.by car: A1 - exit Enns-West - Steyr - B115 to St.Ulrichby train: Steyr train station or Garsten train station, each 2km to St.Ulrich
