Wels, Upper Austria
From 1849 - 1852, the Christuskirche was built in neo-Gothic style according to plans by the Nuremberg conservator Prof. Karl von Heideloff. As the first Protestant house of worship in Austria, it received a tower (completed in 1860, 60 meters high) with bells as a sign of the fundamental equality with Catholics achieved at that time.
