The municipality of Krumpendorf am Wörthersee has established itself as a movement arena on Lake Wörthersee in recent years. With the new Calisthenics Park, the municipality has created another offering – for young and old, for beginners and sports professionals. On Sunday, July 2, 2023, the park was officially handed over to its purpose and is now available free of charge 24/7 for all sports enthusiasts. The construction of this facility was already supported by all factions in the municipal council, and thus financed and realized by the municipality, with the support of the state of Carinthia through the Offensive for Lake, Mountain, and Cycling Infrastructure. "With the Calisthenics Park, a new cross-generational movement offering has been created, both for us locals and our guests!" agree Mayor Gernot Bürger and Sports Officer GV Alexander Wultsch. "It's not so important how old you get. What's important is how you get old! Movement is an important key to a healthy life!" said Provincial Parliament Member Mayor Herbert Gaggl, who participated in the opening on behalf of Provincial Councillor Sebastian Schuschnig. The founders of the company Barzflex, Florian Schachner and David Jandrisevits, were also on site and, together with Marvin Schuppe, from the Streetworkout Carinthia association, demonstrated their athletic skills, which ranged from basic exercises to true calisthenics acrobatics. In calisthenics, you train with the strength and weight of your own body. On site, there is a board with explanations of the fundamental basic exercises.
