The Berufsvereinigung Bildender Künstler Österreichs (Professional Association of Visual Artists of Austria) was founded in 1912 and is the oldest professional representation for artists. At the beginning of its founding, the aim was to elevate the status of artists in society, to develop copyrights and their protection, and to achieve cultural-political presence in the public sphere. The BV is administratively active for all visual artists in Austria. The gallery presents works by artists from Austria and abroad in changing exhibitions.
