Burg Kaprun was built according to historians in the 12th century. Even today, it shines as an imposing structure and transports visitors and viewers back to a distant time. More than 600 years of eventful history can still be felt: the atmosphere of days long gone is still present. When you enter the venerable Burg Kaprun, it is as if you are traveling into the past. Surrounded by centuries-old walls, you get an impression of how counts, princes, or stewards spent their daily lives back then. It is no coincidence that the castle is repeatedly the site of an exciting medieval festival during the summer months.
