Ischgl, Tyrol
The old Blasius Chapel (1675) was destroyed by a flood. In 1765, a new chapel building was erected in the regional building tradition, and a 14-Nothelfer (Fourteen Holy Helpers) altar (1740) was brought here. An older, former altarpiece (1680; from the Blasius Chapel) hangs on the entrance wall. It depicts the 14 Nothelfer, traditionally 3 female and 11 male, in the form of a tree of life and also lists their names. The statue of Mary with the infant Jesus (18th century) could, according to its type, have previously been a destination for pilgrims as a miraculous image.
