The Dr. Arthur Mettinger Bee Education Area is located directly on the Lavantradweg R10. It includes educational boards describing the life cycle of the bee. For visitors, there are also two seating sets, a drinking water tap, a bicycle stand, and an Ambrosius statue – the patron saint of beekeepers and bees – available. A wild bee hotel and a sandarium were built as nesting opportunities for wild bees. In addition, a Benjes hedge was piled up so that larger animals can also find shelter. The bee education area combines natural habitat, environmental education, and recreation in the outdoors and invites visitors to linger and discover. Parking facilities are located in the town center and at the Lavamünd fire station. From there, the education area can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot via the R10 cycle path.
