Bienenfresserkolonie am Ungerberg

The bee-eaters on the slopes of the Ungerberg, on the border between Weiden and Gols, are a popular destination for ornithologists. A significant colony builds its nesting sites here from April to the end of July. The Ungerberg can only be reached on foot or by bicycle; the best starting point is the "Steckerlfisch" inn at the end of Weiden, from where you can already clearly see the Ungerberg and the sand caves. The animals can be observed, but not disturbed!
