Bienenerlebnisweg Schattendorf

The bee educational trail starts right at the Schuhmühle with several information boards about the life of bees, a wild bee hotel, and at the end of the path, a beehive where you can observe the lively activity of honey bees up close. The life of the honey bee is explained on illustrative boards: How do the larvae develop? What does the beehive feed on? What do bees do in winter? … and many other questions are answered along the way. Afterwards, the Tauscherbach invites you to take a break on the wooden seating platform and listen to the bees on the meadow blossoms. The path is barrier-free. Beekeeper Herbert Grafl, chairman of the Beekeeping Association, introduces children and parents to the world of industrious honey bees. Using a real observation beehive and illustrative boards along the newly created bee experience path, the life and functions of the worker bees and queen are explained excitingly and up close. And to conclude, the diligent helpers receive a delicious honey bread for refreshment. Guided tours by telephone appointment!
