The frescoes in the Great Library Hall are by Melchior Steidl. The main elliptical painting shows the twelve-year-old Jesus in the Temple. The group of figures is placed in an architecturally magnificently designed room. This main painting is followed by depictions of the four Church Fathers: in the north, St. Gregory the Great; in the south, St. Jerome; in the east, St. Augustine; and in the west, St. Ambrose. The paintings on the narrow sides of the hall depict in the south the three youths Altmann, Gebhard, and Adalbero with the monasteries of Göttweig, Admont, and Lambach founded by them. On the north side, Mary with the Child Jesus, to whom St. Adalbero presents the model of the Lambach church, as well as the grandfather, father, and brother of St. Adalbero, can be seen. The inscription band below bears the year 1699, which indicates the completion of the Great Library Hall. Reading wheel with magnificent inlays A rotating desk, which has a double desk as its base, is adorned with magnificent inlays. It is a unique piece (1730) and bears the abbey's, the convent's, and the personal coat of arms of Abbot Gotthard Haslinger (reg. 1725-1735). Small hall with scenes from antiquity The Small Library Hall, an almost square room, adjoins the Great Hall. The paintings are partly allegories of sciences and scenes from ancient history. Particularly noteworthy are the depicted ground plan and elevation of the Trinity Church in Stadl-Paura.
