The Gothic window in front of the oriel has a stonemason's mark on the underside of the windowsill. Such marks could only be used by journeymen and masters who had completed their training and were declared free. They were the signature of a stonemason. The mark was awarded upon admission to the guild. The beveling of the window frames is intended to provide greater light incidence.
