My name is Veronika Ambrosch, born in 1972 in South Africa, raised in Germany. I have been living in Hermagor in the Gailtal for 10 years. Since I discovered mountaineering more than 26 years ago through my husband in the Styrian Ennstal and have enjoyed being in the mountains ever since, I decided to train as a Carinthian mountain hiking guide. This training appealed to me because it imparts practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of tour planning and guiding, orientation and map reading, equipment knowledge, first aid, nature and environmental studies, alpine hazards, weather, snow, and avalanche studies. Now, on January 17, 2020, I passed the commission examination to become a Carinthian mountain hiking guide, and I would be very happy to guide you on a mountain hiking tour through the Gailtal and Carnic Alps.
