St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Styria

The previous building was almost completely demolished. The Catholic church was probably originally built as a simple wooden structure. Around 1050, a Romanesque church was built, the choir walls of which were uncovered during the renovation in 1991. In 1505, a Gothic church with two rows of columns was built. In 1728, the current Baroque church was rebuilt. Under Pastor Kober, the church interior was completely renovated in 1991/92.The interior of the church largely dates from the late Baroque period. Around seven altars were erected. The high altar features a painting of the church patron saint from the 18th century. Noteworthy are the four wall altars standing in the side chapels. Also remarkable are the richly and figurally decorated pulpit, the gallery balustrade, its grilles, the baptismal font crowning, and two richly inlaid confessionals adorned with figures and inscribed tablets.Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark SAM WZ1842, reservation at +43 50 36 37 38 or ISTmobil.at
