The Kaning Bankerlweg is about 2 km long and is a hiking trail for the whole family. Numerous creatively designed benches, called "Bankerln" in Carinthian dialect, invite you to rest, linger and enjoy. The trail starts at the Türkhaus, where you can already see the first colorfully painted wooden Bankerl. It continues along the Rossbach. After a short time, you turn left onto a forest path and, after a short ascent, arrive in the mountain farming village of Kaning. The view over the valley will fascinate you! You will find another Bankerl behind Karl Stinig's more than 450-year-old farmhouse. Now the path only leads downhill through the village of Kaning. If you keep your eyes open, you will find a Bankerl that nestles around a tree or one with Dutch wooden shoes. At Gasthof Unterwirt there is a Bankerl for chess enthusiasts to admire. Then you must not miss the turn-off on the left side to the Schulweg to get back to the starting point at the Türkhaus. Duration: approx. 1 hour.
