Badeplatz Geyerinsel - Baden im Almfluss

Scharnstein im Almtal, Upper Austria

The Alm - the riverThe Alm originates at Lake Almsee with the clear waters of the Totes Gebirge. With its sometimes unmistakable turquoise color, the Alm also flows through the market town of Scharnstein. With its gravel banks and weirs, it is also suitable for children. Enjoy a slightly different kind of swimming fun.The Geyerinsel - the swimming area in ScharnsteinThe area on the Geyerinsel, right behind the Geyerhammer Museum, offers a beautiful gravel bank with shallow access to the Alm river. The Almuferweg "Genuss am Almfluss" also leads directly past it, and a large Almwellenliege (Alm wave lounger) is on site with a wonderful view of the Scharnstein ruins.Very good accessibility by bike (no cars allowed at the swimming area) Ideal accessibility by the Almtalbahn - the Scharnstein-Mühldorf stop is on the other bank of the Alm. Around the Geyerhammermuseum and the Hofmühlersteg, it's only a 5-minute walk. The nearest parking spaces are only a few meters away, direct parking at the swimming area is not allowed! Parking lot Ruine Scharnstein/Museum Geyerhammer only 3-4 minutes away
