Ausstellungen im Besucherzentrum Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe

Along the Großglockner High Alpine Road, you can expect not only breathtaking views and unique nature experiences, but also diverse exhibitions at various locations. These are dedicated to exciting topics ranging from natural phenomena to historical events. In the visitor center on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, you can visit exhibitions on nature, mountains, glaciers, cars, and much more across 1,500 m². One exhibition shows known and unknown facets of the popular TV presenter and alpinist Sepp Forcher. Visitors experience an exciting journey through his life with touching stories and fascinating insights.Special exhibitions: In 2026, the automobile and motorcycle exhibition will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Vespa. More than ten models from eight decades show the development of the Italian cult brand – from historical classics to the current electric Vespa. The exhibition "170th Anniversary of the Imperial Visit: Summit Meeting of Your Majesties" retells the journey of the young imperial couple from Schönbrunn to the high mountains of the Hohe Tauern. The focus is on the visit on September 6 and 7, 1856, the travel conditions at the time, and the political, social, and personal backgrounds of monarchical journeys.
