Ausstellung "Das Landesmuseum und das Judentum"

The Landesmuseum and Judaism The history of the Landesmuseum Burgenland is closely linked with Jewish personalities and the Jewish history of Eisenstadt. The exhibition focuses on Sándor Wolf, a collector, patron, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the Landesmuseum, as well as other figures who significantly shaped the development and scientific work of the young museum. Using original objects, documents, and biographical testimonies, the exhibition highlights scientific engagement and collecting passion, as well as the profound disruptions caused by persecution and expropriation during the Nazi era and the subsequent restitution of stolen cultural assets.
