In 1950, a 13-meter-high "Heimkehrerkreuz" (returnee's cross) was erected by the returnees of both World Wars as a thank you for their return on a granite formation (662m) on the Handberg. In 2002, the Heimkehrerkreuz (7 meters high) was renewed and placed on a 13-meter-high viewing platform in cooperation with the Kameradschaftsbund. The viewing platform is a galvanized steel construction and was built by the Greiner company Biberauer. From here, one enjoys a magnificent view into the valley of the two villages Markt and Schloßberg as well as into the hilly surroundings up to the Alps.
