Towards the low terrace, this area is loosened up by arable and meadow areas. The predominantly forest-dominated riparian forest shows remnants of silver willow riparian forests and numerous riparian waters. Intensive agricultural use and a low proportion of forest characterize the low terrace. The most valuable habitats from a nature conservation perspective here are the lean meadows and semi-dry grasslands on the terrace embankment. In the lowlands of the left-bank Danube tributaries Aist, Naarn and Mettensdorfer Mühlbach, there is a mosaic of forest remnants and agricultural areas.
