The only Alpbacher four-poster bed in the valleyThat no one lives here anymore is completely irrelevant to the animals in the back of the stable. Enough people pass by here, because the Mountain Farm Museum in Inneralpbach is very popular with guests from Alpbachtal.Around 800 furnishings and everyday objects can be viewed, offering interesting insights into rural life from back then. Butter churns, wooden skis, hay baskets, traditional costumes, and even 18th-century dental drills are on display in the museum.A rarity is ready in a small chamber behind the farm kitchen – the only remaining Alpbacher four-poster bed in the valley. The old farmers slept in this room, and it was bitterly cold, as the chimney only heated the upper bedrooms. Linen flax, straw sacks, and sheep's wool – everything that was produced themselves – helped them get sleep in the icy four-poster bed.
