Alpakas vom JosefsbergIn the Lavanttal in Carinthia, we have been dedicated to breeding alpacas since May 2014.The reasons for being interested in these "living balls of wool" and the products made from the "fleece of the gods" are as diverse as the color shades of their valuable wool.We Alpakas vom Josefsberg look from our "Alpi Villa", which was planned by the in-house architectural office, on the south side of the Josefsberg at an altitude of approximately 650m above sea level, across the nearby state border to Slovenia and nibble healthy mountain herbs.We are doing well here, very well indeed:Almost around the clock we are pampered with hay and treats and, if necessary, medically well cared for. Tino and Lola provide the necessary cuddles.The family's residential house is very old. Allegedly, 600 years ago it was the servants' quarters of Loschental Castle. We start directly from the farm after an introduction and getting to know the animals.Depending on the size of the group, 4 - 12 of our alpacas, which are led on a leash, will accompany us.After the hike, we let the impressions sink in on our terrace. The residential house is 600 years old and a real jewel, which was lovingly renovated by my father, who is an architect. Since 2014, in addition to my profession as an anesthetist, I have dedicated myself to alpaca breeding. Depending on the season, between 30 and 50 alpacas live on our farm, as well as 3 cats.The nearest town is 3.5 km away.
