Almendorf Fallerschein

The idyllic Almendorf (alpine village) Fallerschein is definitely worth a visit. The romantic mountain village, with over 40 log cabins, is nestled amidst lush and steep mountain meadows and is the only one of its kind in all of Tyrol. Two snack stations invite you to stop for a break and spoil hikers with traditional home cooking and refreshments. You can reach the alpine village in about 30-45 minutes, starting from the Fallerschein turn-off on the federal road between Stanzach and Namlos. During the winter months, Fallerschein is closed due to avalanche danger. In summer, the mostly asphalted path is also ideal for strollers. There is a strict driving ban on the way to Fallerschein; only cabin owners or authorized persons are permitted to drive.
