Alatsee

Alatsee lake is located in Bavarian territory, but can be easily reached from Vils in a very short time on foot or by bike via the Vilser Scharte. The large sunbathing lawn on the north-west shore is a popular destination for sunbathers and swimmers in summer.There are numerous sagas, myths and tales surrounding Alatsee lake. One of them claims that a gold treasure was sunk in it at the end of the Second World War.
