Älteste Stadtschule

This semi-detached house, located vis-à-vis the main entrance of the Catholic parish church, originally belonged to the city of Gmunden and served as a school building. The so-called Stadtschule (city school) was housed within it. When the property became too small for the growing number of students, a new, larger school building was erected in Habertstraße. The former schoolhouse Kirchenplatz 1 was sold in 1858 to the Habacher family of printers. Since then, it has borne the name Habacherhaus.More information can be found at Gmundens Schätze!
