Bösenstein and Scheibelsee From the Edelrautehütte, the well-marked path leads through a pine forest past the large Scheibelsee. The trail continues in switchbacks through a steep scree gully onto the east ridge of the Großer Bösenstein. This is ascended via a well-recognizable small path leading over boulders and scree. From the Großer Bösenstein, the path leads in a southwesterly direction into a saddle and from there ascending to the Kleiner Bösenstein (2395 m), further along the ridge to the Großer Hengst (2159 m), from which the descent to the Edelrautehütte takes place in steep switchbacks. No less beautiful but less strenuous is a circumnavigation of the Großer Scheibelsee. On warm summer days, some even dare a refreshing swim.
