4. Himmlisches Platzerl

From Triebental to the Kälberalm The Kälberalm is located at an altitude of 1,442 m above sea level. Where many years ago the Alm (mountain pasture) dairymen produced cheese, butter and Topfen (curd cheese), young animals from the Braun farm now graze during the summer. At the rustic Almhütte (alpine hut), time can be forgotten and thoughts can wander far away with the wonderful view. Those who want to explore more of the mountain world can ascend to the Geierkogel within 2 hours. The starting point of the tour is at the Braun farm in Triebental (trail no. 948). The Kälberalmhütte can also be reached from the village of Hohentauern via the Hasensattel in 1.5 hours!
